Who is Mark Noel?
Get to know the man behind the architecture.
Mark was raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota and was submersed into an imaginative, creative world of the arts and design. He was raised by two accomplished interior designer parents. He had an affinity for art and has always been fascinated by the creative design process and how things fit together. Through high school and early college, Mark developed a passion for working with his hands, building, sculpting, sketching, and drawing, and began to explore his fascination with design. In his early career, following in his parents’ footsteps, he explored the world of interior design. However, he quickly realized that he wanted to work with volumes of space and light, and how individuals interact within a space. His interest was piqued more by doors, windows, walls and roofs as opposed to strictly interior finishes and decor.
Mark received his Master of Architecture degree from Tulane University in New Orleans. It was a city that deeply fulfilled him and provided an incredible environment to immerse himself in and study art and architecture. The layers and history of all aspects of the building and the social environment had a deep impact on him as an architect. Mark did his initial work and internships with several noted architectural firms in Minneapolis and Cincinnati. He has traveled extensively throughout Italy, and in China and Thailand in Asia.
An opportunity to work with T. Michael Manchester in Snowmass Village brought Mark to the Roaring Fork Valley in 2005. He instantly fell in love with the community, landscape, climate and endless outdoor activities. There, he also thrived in engaging with clients and further mastered his style and approach.
Mark is just as passionate and creative in his personal life as he is in his professional life and the two often overlap and intermingle. He enjoys painting, sculpting, cooking, skiing, hiking, and yoga. Above all, he is most proud of being a father to his three sons and spending time with them and encouraging them to develop their own unique excitement and fervor for life.
